Finding Joy in Doing Good, Discovering Happiness in a Busy Life

Tomorrow is the International Day of Happiness. What does happiness mean to you? Is it health, fame, fortune, or material comforts? Research shows that doing good can enhance our sense of happiness. Mr Low Swee Seh, Chief Executive Officer of Tzu-Chi Foundation (Singapore), who has long dedicated himself to charitable work, finds joy in giving back to society. International reports indicate that the greater one’s kindness, the greater one’s sense of happiness. Government data reveals that Singaporeans were keen to do good last year, with donations received by the SGSHARE increasing compared to the previous year. Mr Low Swee Seh, CEO of Tzu-Chi Foundation (Singapore), who has dedicated over a decade to charitable work, believes that happiness lies not in what one possesses, but in growing together with others through giving and sharing joy.
